What is koinonia?

Koinonia is a greek word (κοινωνία) which has no literal translation in English, but is a word used to describe an intimate sense of relationship, sharing and community.

In particular, it is used in the Bible to describe the kind of close fellowship and community that the early Christians shared.

When I started out as a freelancer in 2011, I already knew a few people who were in the web design industry, and who were also good friends. I had an idea that we might be able to share our experience as freelancers together – encourage each other, support each other and potentially work together if the right project came along.

I set up a Facebook group with these people and we meet up every so often for a nice curry.
