In January 2012 I took on a role as digital media adviser to the Church of England, based in the Diocese of Worcester.
My role there is to manage the website, social media strategy, e-newsletters, video and photography, and a whole host of other online communications. A lot to fit into 2 days a week!
I’ve enjoyed settling into life there and the quaint ways of the Church of England. It presents some exciting challenges for me, actually, as I look at how best to implement social media, look to rebuild an ageing website (for an ageing audience) and most of all how to stay awake during my 1 hour drive to Worcester on a Tuesday morning.
What I’ve been up to recently:
- Got all worked up about the colour purple
- Designed some rather nice business cards
- Put together a slick video of the Kingdom People day
- Spoke on BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester on social media for churches and getting the Bishop of Worcester to start tweeting (Feb 2013)
